A Remote Climb - The Drool of the Beast !

Patrick and I made the journey to check out the Drool today. We were pleasantly surprised at the amount of ice on the route. It was a technical climb protected with stubbies, rock gear and a variety of old fixed pro. To advance one must wind their way up the route as the thin yellow runnel of ice cork screws its way up the wall. The area is spectacular - climbing high on a remote crag above Greely Ponds.

The Drool.

Patrick looking sharp - decked out in Mammut's top products.

Arriving at the base after a short bushwack.

Getting started on the thin moves and placing rock protection.

Enjoyed a great day with Patrick off the beaten path today.
